Unlike how we do it, certain components, such as graphic design are a part of any discussion, but their importance in the construction of sites variesfrom person to person and from site to site. Some consider the creation and organization of content or more formally, the information architecture as the most important aspect of Web design. Other factors ease of use, the value and function of the site within an organization's overall operations, and site delivery, among many others remain firmly within the realm of Web design.
A poster is a visual communication tool that serves as a summary of your work and an advertisement of your research area.
An effective poster is ...
An effective poster uses a different visual grammar. It shows, not tells. It expresses your points in graphical terms. All elements, even the figure legends, should be visible from 4 feet away. We display the essential content - the messages - in the title, main headings and graphics. Poster Design indicates the relative importance of elements graphically: each main point is stated in large type-face headings; details are subordinated visually, using smaller type-face. The main headings explain the points, rather than merely stating "results" and letting the viewer hunt for - or even worse, invent - the message.
